COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Customs says the paperless Customs declaration system will come into effect from today (01).
Customs Spokesperson Chandana Punchihewa said Sri Lanka Customs will no longer accept declarations submitted under the previous system from today.
Accordingly, all importers and declarants are required to submit their Customs declarations and other relevant documents with a valid digital signature.
The paperless Customs declaration system is being introduced as part of the government’s economic reform programme and its efforts to modernize public services through digitalization.
The system aims to make the Customs clearance process more efficient, faster and transparent.
