Victim's Testimony Could Reveal Motive Behind Rathgama Shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police say they are currently recording a statement from the man injured in the recent shooting incident in the Pannila area of Rathgama, as investigators seek to uncover the motive behind the attack.

According to police, information obtained from the victim is expected to assist investigators in identifying the circumstances that led to the shooting and the individuals involved.

The injured man is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

The shooting occurred on Monday night when the victim was travelling on a motorcycle through the Pannila area of Rathgama.

Police said the suspect approached the victim on foot before opening fire with a T-56 assault rifle, leaving the motorcyclist injured.
