Teen and 22-Year-Old Arrested in Connection With Ambalangoda Shooting Attempt

COLOMBO (News1st); Two suspects allegedly involved in an attempted murder carried out in the Kahawa area of Ambalangoda have been arrested in Batapola, police said.

According to police, the arrests were made by a team of officers attached to the Meetiyagoda Police Station.

The suspects taken into custody are aged 19 and 22.

Investigations have revealed that the two suspects allegedly acted as the gunman and the motorcycle rider who arrived at the scene of the shooting.

Police have also recovered the pistol believed to have been used in the shooting, along with 10 live rounds of ammunition.

In addition, officers seized the motorcycle allegedly used by the suspects to carry out the attack, as well as the two helmets they were wearing at the time of the incident.
