Zonal Education Directors to Decide on School Closures in the Central Province Due to Heavy Rains

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Central Province Governor, Specialist Dr. Suranga Fernando, says authority has been given to Zonal Education Directors to decide whether schools in the Central Province should remain open amid the prevailing rainy weather.

He said Zonal Education Directors have been instructed to make such decisions as necessary, in consultation with school principals.

Several schools in the Denuwara, Gampola and Katugastota education zones will be closed today due to the heavy rainfall.
