Suspect Arrested With Foreign-Made Firearm In Weligama

COLOMBO (News 1st): A suspect has been arrested along with a foreign-made firearm and a magazine during a search conducted at a house near the Gadolagalla Temple in Weligama.

The arrested individual is a 33-year-old resident of the Thelijjawila area.

The suspect was apprehended during a raid carried out by officers of the Southern Province Special Operations Unit of the Police Special Task Force (STF), based on received information.

The STF also took into custody 2 grams and 530 milligrams of heroin, a stock of drug pills, and Rs. 62,400 in cash found in his possession.
