350 New Health Attendants Recruited For Northern Province Hospitals

COLOMBO (News1st);Letters of appointment are being awarded today to 350 newly recruited Health Attendants in the Northern Province under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The Ministry of Health announced that these appointments are provided to health attendants recruited under both the Line Ministry and the Northern Provincial Council for hospitals and healthcare institutions across the province, including the Jaffna Teaching Hospital and the Jaffna Nursing Training School.

Accordingly, 45 health attendants recruited under the Line Ministry will be attached to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, while 5 will be attached to the Jaffna Nursing Training School.

Furthermore, 300 individuals recruited under the Provincial Council are set to be attached to other hospitals and health institutions throughout the Northern Province, the Ministry added.

Meanwhile, the official handing over of the new four-story Medical Officers' Quarters complex at the Tellippalai Base Hospital in Jaffna to the medical staff will also take place today under the leadership of Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

Constructed at a cost of Rs. 196.6 million, the new facility will be able to accommodate around 20 medical officers.
