COLOMBO (News1st);Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa, who is currently in remanded custody, is to be presented before the Fort Magistrate's Court today.
This is in connection with a case filed under money laundering charges by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) regarding alleged financial irregularities during the aircraft procurement process for SriLankan Airlines.
Namal Rajapaksa was named as a suspect in the case on the 13th, based on instructions from the Attorney General.
Namal Rajapaksa, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on charges of accepting bribes related to the Airbus deal, is currently remanded until the 18th.
This comes after he was produced before the Colombo Principal Magistrate's Court following his arrest on the 4th.
