Rs. 320 Million Worth Of Kush Seized At Katunayake Airport

COLOMBO (News1st);Two abandoned suitcases containing Kush narcotics valued at 320 million rupees were seized at the Katunayake Airport early this morning by the Police Narcotic Bureau.

Police stated that the drugs were meticulously concealed inside 60 airtight packets. The total weight of the contraband is 32 kilograms and 91 grams.

Investigations revealed that the narcotics were brought aboard a SriLankan Airlines flight arriving from Bangkok, Thailand. 

Police suspect the passenger to whom the luggage belongs to, left them behind and fled due to the fear of being arrested at the airport.

Extensive investigations are currently underway to identify the suspect using the airport's CCTV footage and SriLankan Airlines passenger manifest.
