Leukaemia Among Most Common Cancers Affecting Children

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Health authorities reveals that between 900 and 1,000 child cancer patients are reported annually.

This information has been revealed based on data from the National Cancer Registry.

Leukaemia commonly known as blood cancer, lymphatic cancers, and brain-related cancers are among the most commonly reported cancer types among children.

Consultant Community Physician of the National Cancer Control Programme of the Ministry of Health, Suraj Perera has urged to take steps to identify these cancers in early stages and refer children for treatment.
