IMF Team To Visit Sri Lanka Today (10)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special team of officials from the International Monetary Fund, led by IMF Mission Chief for Sri Lanka Evan Papageorgiou, is due to arrive in the country today.

The team is scheduled to remain in Sri Lanka for 14 days, until September 23.

The main objective of the visit is to conduct the combined seventh review of Sri Lanka’s economic reform programme under the Extended Fund Facility.

During the visit, IMF representatives are also expected to meet with senior government officials, officials from the Central Bank and other stakeholders.

The discussions will focus on Sri Lanka’s macroeconomic stability, economic growth reforms and the next steps in the country’s reform programme.
