Sedawatte Kasun's Aide Detained After Major Drug Bust

COLOMBO (News1st); A suspected associate of underworld figure "Sedawatte Kasun" has been placed under a three-day detention order after being arrested with a stock of narcotics including Ice and heroin.

The suspect was produced before the Hultsdorp Magistrate's Court yesterday, following which authorities obtained the detention order.

The Colombo Crime Division said steps will be taken in the coming days to seek an extension of the detention order as investigations continue.

During an operation carried out by the Colombo Crime Division the previous day, officers recovered four kilograms of heroin, eight kilograms of Ice, and Rs. 300,000 in cash from a house belonging to the suspect.

Police said the narcotics and cash were discovered during the raid conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Colombo Crime Division further stated that Sedawatte Kasun is currently residing in Dubai.
