Sri Lanka Women Qualify for ICC Women's Champions Trophy 2027

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has welcomed the automatic qualification of the Sri Lanka Women's National Team for the ICC Women's Champions Trophy 2027, following the International Cricket Council's decision regarding the hosting of the inaugural tournament.

While Sri Lanka will not host the ICC Women's Champions Trophy 2027, the national women's team has successfully secured direct qualification for the prestigious competition based on its standing in the current qualification process.

SLC also reaffirmed its commitment to providing the necessary support and resources required to prepare the team for the global tournament, which will bring together some of the world's leading women's cricket nations.

Sri Lanka Cricket further noted that it will continue to work closely with the International Cricket Council, the host nation of the ICC Women's Champions Trophy 2027 and all other relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful staging of the inaugural edition of the tournament.
