Audit Begins Into Ambuluwaawa Land Allocation

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Auditor General's Department has commenced an audit into the Ambuluwaawa Biodiversity Complex, focusing on several key areas including land allocation, administrative management and financial transactions.

According to the Auditor General's Department, the audit will examine the process through which land was allocated to the Ambuluwaawa Biodiversity Complex, the manner in which the institution has been administered and maintained, and financial dealings connected to its operations.

The development comes amid longstanding concerns and public debate regarding the allocation and utilisation of land associated with the biodiversity complex.

Over the years, various questions have been raised relating to the lands granted for the project and the manner in which those lands have been utilised.

Public attention towards the site intensified following the severe impacts of Cyclone Ditwah, when landslides were reported in areas surrounding the Ambuluwaawa Biodiversity Complex.
