Three Arrested For Forging And Selling Vehicle Registration Documents

COLOMBO (News1st); Three suspects have been arrested for forging and selling documents required for vehicle registration.

Police stated that the three suspects, aged 39, 52, and 56, are residents of the Narahenpita area.

In the possession of the suspects, police recovered 2 revenue license application forms bearing the letterheads of the Department of Motor Traffic, a fake rubber stamp bearing the name of the Department of Motor Traffic, and a fake rubber stamp containing the name of a Justice of the Peace.

Police also stated that they seized a photocopy of an identity card used for preparing forged certificates, a copy of a lorry's motor vehicle registration certificate prepared for forgery, a fake rubber stamp containing the details of a lawyer, and a file cover used for Department of Motor Traffic correspondence.

The raid was carried out following a tip-off that documents required for vehicle registration were being forged and sold near the Department of Motor Traffic.
