Funeral Rites of Ven. Rambukana Siddhartha Thera To Be Held Today (21)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The final rites of the late veteran lyricist, Ven. Rambukana Siddhartha Thera, is scheduled to be held today at the Saranankara Grounds in Dehiwala.

His remains are currently lying at the Sudharmaramaya Temple in Wellawatte for public respects.

The Venerable Thera passed away on the evening of August 18 while receiving treatment at the Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital. He was 76 years old at the time of passing.

Born in Rambukana, Morawaka, in 1950, Ven. Rambukana Siddhartha Thera made a significant contribution to Sri Lanka’s Buddhist devotional music.

Ven. Rambukana Siddhartha Thera received several awards, including the Sarasaviya Award for Best Lyrics, and also served as Chairman of the Arts Council of Sri Lanka.
