Dr. Nanda Malini’s Remains Placed for Public Tribute

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The mortal remains of the late veteran singer Visharada Dr. Nanda Malini have been placed at the Nanda Malini Music Academy in Wijayaba Mawatha, Nugegoda, for the public to pay final respects. 

Professor Sunil Ariyaratne said the final rites will be held at 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Borella Cemetery.

However, no funeral ceremony will be held for the remains.

The government has declared 21, 22 and 23 of August as National Days of Mourning, due to the passing of Visharada Dr. Nanda Malini. 

The Government Information Department said further details regarding the decision will be issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.

Visharada Dr. Nanda Malini passed away yesterday, at the age of 82.
