84 Retailers Face Legal Action Over Illegal Imports

COLOMBO (News1st); The Consumer Affairs Authority has filed lawsuits against 84 retail stores across the island for illegally selling imported cosmetics and footwear, during special island wide raids.
The authority stated that footwear valued at nearly Rs. 1.5 million was found during the inspections of these stores.
CAA said that the owners of these shops had failed to produce valid bills or invoices for the items.
Raids regarding illegally imported cosmetics and footwear are set to be continued.
