COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The arrest was made when he appeared before the Commission to provide a statement.
Rambukwella had been summoned to record a statement in connection with an investigation into allegations that employees had been recruited to the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation in excess of the approved cadre, causing financial losses to the State.
CIABOC also stated that statements were recorded from the former minister today in relation to an ongoing investigation into the alleged theft of a historic moonstone believed to have been located at the foot of the staircase of the palace of King Sri Veera Parakrama Narendrasinghe at the archaeological site in Warapitiya Uduwalawa, Kundasale.
