Suspect Arrested Over Fatal Madampe Hit-And-Run

COLOMBO (News 1st): The suspect who fled the scene after causing a fatal traffic accident in the Madampe area has been arrested.

Police stated that the suspect was apprehended through investigations based on CCTV footage.

The van he was driving was found hidden in the Madampe area itself.

A 64-year-old resident of Panwila died yesterday after being struck by the van driven by the suspect.

Following the accident, the suspect fled the scene in the van, prompting the Madampe Police to launch a comprehensive investigation to trace him.
