Board Of Inquiry Appointed Over Angulana Naval Accident

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special board of inquiry has been appointed to conduct a preliminary investigation into the capsizing of the Naval Fast Attack Craft, in the Angulana sea.

The Sri Lanka Navy stated that operations are still underway to find the Navy member who went missing from the vessel.

Two Sri Lanka Air Force Mi-17 and Bell 412 helicopters have also been deployed for this operation.

The operation to salvage the wrecked Navy craft began today, with Navy divers deployed for the task.

The 11 Navy members rescued from the accident are continuing to receive medical treatment.

The Navy confirmed that their health condition is not critical.

The vessel that met with the accident yesterday is a Super Dvora Mark III fast attack craft belonging to the Navy.
