Paddy Purchases Near 20,000 MT in Three Weeks

COLOMBO (Newsv 1st): The Paddy Marketing Board states that 19,592 metric tons of paddy have been purchased.

This was achieved within a period of three weeks.

Paddy has been purchased from the districts of Mullaitivu, Ampara, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Hambantota, Kurunegala, Matale, Monaragala, Vavuniya, Ratnapura, Trincomalee, and Kilinochchi.

Paddy Marketing Board Chairman Manjula Pinnalanda stated that paddy purchases are being carried out through 71 centers.

The government is purchasing Nadu paddy at Rs. 120 per kilogram, Samba paddy at Rs. 130 per kilogram, and Keeri Samba at Rs. 140 per kilogram.
