7 New Metro Bus Routes Set to Transform Colombo Transport

COLOMBO (News 1st); Lanka Metro Transit (Pvt) Ltd (LMT), a government-owned company operating under the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, has announced the introduction of seven new Metro Bus routes across the Colombo Metropolitan Region as part of efforts to modernize Sri Lanka's urban public transport network.

The newly introduced routes include CM01, connecting Makumbura and Colombo Fort via Pettah; CM02, linking Millennium City with Colombo Fort; and CM03, operating between Kadawatha and Makumbura.

Additional routes include CM04, connecting Dematagoda and Panadura; CM05, linking Battaramulla and Ekala; and CM06, which will function as a Kollupitiya Circular Route serving key areas within the city.

Meanwhile, CM08 will operate between Kesbewa and Pettah, providing another important transport link for commuters travelling to Colombo's commercial centre.
