Raids Launched Against Substandard Motorcycle Helmets Without SLS Certification

COLOMBO (News1st): The National Council for Road Safety has launched raids to track down manufacturers and sellers of substandard motorcycle helmets that are not SLS certified. 

This is being conducted in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Standards Institution and the Consumer Affairs Authority.

Manjula Kularatne, Chairman of the National Council for Road Safety, stated that strict legal action will be taken against the manufacture and sale of substandard helmets identified during these raids.

The Chairman Manjula Kularathne highlighted that wearing a substandard helmet is just as dangerous as wearing none at all and urged that it is mandatory to use certified helmets that carry the SLS mark.
