Over 7,000 Metric Tonnes Of Paddy Purchased

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Paddy Marketing Board states that 7,267 metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased within a period of two weeks.

Paddy purchasing is taking place in the areas of Mullaitivu, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Hambantota, Mullaitivu, Kurunegala, Matale, Monaragala, Vavuniya, Ratnapura, Trincomalee, and Kilinochchi.

Chairman of the Paddy Marketing Board, Manjula Pinnalanda stated that these operations are being carried out through 71 centers.

The government is purchasing paddy at prices of Rs. 120 per kilogram of Nadu, Rs. 130 per kilogram of Samba, and Rs. 140 per kilogram of Keeri Samba.
