$37.5 Billion And Counting: The Mounting Cost Of America’s War With Iran

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says the United States’ military campaign in Iran has cost Washington an estimated US$37.5 billion so far, as the Pentagon seeks additional funding to sustain operations.

Hegseth revealed the figure while facing questions from lawmakers on Capitol Hill, where concerns were raised over the rising financial burden of the conflict and the lack of clarity surrounding the war’s objectives.

The estimated cost includes expenses already incurred as well as projected spending up to September 30, according to the Pentagon. The figure represents an increase from earlier estimates, with officials previously reporting lower costs as the conflict progressed.
