Dengue Death Toll Rises to 53 as Cases Top 75,000

Colombo (News 1st) : The number of deaths due to dengue has risen to 53.

So far, 75,000 dengue cases have been reported in the country this year

The highest number of patients are reported from the Gampaha and Colombo districts.

Meanwhile, the National Dengue Control Unit states that a special dengue eradication program is being carried out today in 11 districts as well.

Its Director, Dr. Kapila Kannangara, said that the program is being implemented in 63 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) offices across these 11 districts.
