Dengue Cases Top 73,000 in Sri Lanka So Far This Year

COLOMBO (News 1st); A total of 73,455 dengue cases have been reported in the country so far this year.

The National Dengue Control Unit stated that 1,025 dengue patients were identified in the country within the last 24 hours.

The number of dengue-related deaths reported so far stands at 50.

The highest number of cases continues to be reported from the Gampaha and Colombo districts.

Within the first fifteen days of this month alone, 17,051 dengue cases have been reported across the country.

The National Dengue Control Unit further noted that 175 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions in the island have been designated as high-risk zones for dengue.
