COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Agrarian Development says compensation has been fully provided to all farmers affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Commissioner General of Agrarian Development Dhammika Ranatunga said compensation was paid to 112,442 farmers, covering an area of 59,245 hectares.
A total of Rs. 8.886 Billion has been spent for this.
Meanwhile, the Department said that 95% of farmers have received the fertiliser subsidy for the Yala season.
Accordingly, 667,460 farmers have received the fertiliser subsidy, covering 449,750 hectares of cultivated land.
The total expenditure for the fertiliser subsidy programme stands at Rs. 13.492 Billion.
