COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect has been arrested in the Kadawatha area with over 6 kilograms of ICE (methamphetamine), valued at nearly 100 million rupees.
The raid was conducted by a team of officers from the Police Special Task Force (STF).
The arrested individual is a member of the local drug network operated by "Podi Suresh" and "Sanka Sameera," both of whom are organized crime figures and large-scale drug traffickers currently residing overseas.
Police said that the 38-year-old suspect is a resident of Kandaliyaddapaluwa, Ganemulla.
The Police Special Task Force added that an electronic scale and a sum of money earned from the drug trade were also found in the suspect's possession.
He was arrested while traveling in a three-wheeler.
Meanwhile, the Central Crime Investigation Bureau arrested another suspect in Iranavila, Meetiyagoda with 1.118 kilograms of ICE, and 750 grams of heroin.
Police said that the arrested individual is a 32-year-old resident of Iranavila.
