Lanka Salt Limited GM Arrested By CIABOC

COLOMBO (News 1st) -R.M. Gunaratne, the General Manager of Lanka Salt Limited, was arrested by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruptions.

He was taken into custody this morning when he arrived at the Bribery Commission to provide a statement.

He was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation regarding allegations of corruption, specifically for causing a loss of nearly 14.3 million rupees to the government and providing an undue advantage to a supplier by procuring packaging materials for the Hambantota Salt Company through a back-order process, without following the proper procurement procedure.
