COLOMBO (News 1st): Thirteen Chinese nationals who attempted to illegally smuggle a stock of foreign-manufactured cigarettes valued at nearly 30 million rupees into the country have been taken into customs custody at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
They had brought the stock of cigarettes into the country from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Customs stated that the cigarettes were brought concealed inside their luggage and boxes containing tea leaves.
Further investigations regarding the suspects are underway.
