Over 3,000 Police Officers Deployed for Security in Anuradhapura during Poson

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police say a special security and traffic plan has been implemented in and around the Anuradhapura sacred city in line with the upcoming Poson festival. 

The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Anuradhapura District, N.L. Sugathapala, stated that over three thousand police officers will be deployed for this purpose. 

He further noted that lifeguards will also be stationed near lakes and reservoirs to ensure the safety of the public during the religious season.
