19-Hour Water Cut to Affect Several Areas in Gampaha

COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Water Supply and Drainage Board states that water supply will be suspended for 19 hours from 8:00 AM today until 3:00 AM tomorrow in several areas in Gampaha.

The Board stated that accordingly, the water supply will be suspended in Minuwangoda, Asgiriya, Udugampola, Opatha and surrounding areas, the Gampaha Municipal Council area, the Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha area, Weliweriya, Balummahara, Rathpaswala, and surrounding areas.

In addition, it is mentioned that the water cut will also affect Maharagama, Sivuralumulla, Kirikitta, Kinigama, Etikehelgalla, and surrounding areas within the Mahara Pradeshiya Sabha area.

The Water Board also stated that the water supply will be suspended in the Ranpokunagama Housing Scheme, Urapola, Attanagalla, Bataleya, Watupitiwala and surrounding areas, as well as Nittambuwa, Veyangoda, Kalagedihena, Thihariya, Naiwala, and surrounding areas.

The water supply is being suspended due to a maintenance activity at the Attanagalla Karasnagala Water Treatment Plant.
