Ranil Was In Constant Contact With Me, Says Gammanpila

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has remained actively engaged in politics, holding regular discussions despite maintaining a low public profile, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila revealed today.

Responding to questions about reports suggesting Wickremesinghe is preparing to return to active frontline politics, Gammanpila clarified that the former President had never truly stepped away from political engagement.

“Although he did not appear publicly in recent times, he remained active in politics. He met us regularly and held discussions over the phone. We see his increasing involvement as a strengthening of the Opposition.”

The revelation comes amid growing speculation about Wickremesinghe’s renewed role in Sri Lanka’s political landscape, as opposition forces explore potential realignments and strategies ahead of future elections.
