COPF to Meet Over Treasury Cyber Theft Case

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Committee on Public Finance (COPF) is scheduled to meet today (15) at 2:00 p.m.

The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament Dr. Harsha de Silva.

During a previous meeting of the committee, officials were summoned regarding an incident in which USD 2.5 million belonging to the Treasury was allegedly stolen by cybercriminals.

At that time, the committee instructed the Treasury to submit a more detailed report on the incident.

The Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance is also expected to present a comprehensive report on the matter to Parliament in the future.
