Authorities Issue Guidelines for Dengue Patient Management: Urge Prompt Medical Treatment

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni says guidelines relating to the management of dengue patients have been issued to medical institutions due to the rapid increase in dengue cases.

Deputy Minister also stated the necessary measures have been taken to obtain blood samples from patients to ensure that tests are conducted promptly.

Dr. Wijemuni stressed that every patient suspected of having dengue fever should be placed under the supervision of a medical practitioner, and blood samples should be provided whenever requested by doctors.
