Auditor General's Department Expands Capacity With New Units

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Seven new units have been established to enhance the efficiency of the Auditor General's Department.

The new units include procurement audits, special investigation reports, environmental audits, and performance audits, among others.

The department said that with the establishment of these units, audit functions that are currently carried out under the general audit process can be directed to the relevant divisions, enabling a more efficient and effective approach.

In parallel to this, a decision has also been taken to recruit 250 new officers to fill existing vacancies within the Auditor General's Department.

The Department stated that approval for these recruitments have been granted by the National Audit Commission.
