COLOMBO (News 1st): The funds amounting to $695 million, corresponding to the sixth and seventh tranches approved for the country by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), have been received.
Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Anil Jayantha, stated that the amount has been credited to the country's foreign reserves.
He further expressed that this would be a significant support to the financial stability of the country.
The Deputy Minister of Finance also stated that the crediting of these funds is an important factor in maintaining the Rupee as a strong currency against the US Dollar.
