Two Arrested Over Deadly Kalutara Gun Attack

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have arrested two suspects, including the main suspect, in connection with a fatal shooting in the South Kalutara–Wettumakada area.

The arrests were made during a targeted raid conducted along Club Mwatha in Kalutara Town, where officers also recovered a quantity of the narcotic substance known as “ice” from the suspects’ possession, police confirmed.

The incident under investigation relates to a recent shooting in Wettumakada, where a group arriving in a motor vehicle opened fire on a man traveling on a motorcycle. The victim, a 44-year-old resident of the area, died as a result of the targeted attack.

Police stated that the deceased was engaged in a business involving the slaughter of cattle for meat.
