Police Open Fire on Vehicle at Minuwangoda Checkpoint

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police have opened fire on a car that had defied orders to stop in Yagodamulla, Minuwangoda.

According to Police, the car, along with two individuals have been taken into custody, following the shooting. 

Police added that during a police roadblock in Minuwangoda, the driver of the vehicle had attempted to endanger a police officer while trying to escape, prompting the officers to open fire.
