Single-Use Plastic Water Bottles to Be Banned in State Institutions from May 31

COLOMBO (News 1st): The government has taken steps to ban the purchase and use of single-use plastic water bottles in all state institutions.

A special circular issued under the signature of the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government states that the purchase and use of single-use plastic water bottles will be banned in all state institutions from the upcoming 31st.

According to the circular, heads of institutions must take action to prevent the use of single-use plastics within state institutions.
