COLOMBO (News 1st); Attention has been drawn to remove the current odd and even system of fuel distribution and to provide fuel under a QR code by the committee appointed to systematically maintain the public service.
The sixth meeting of the committee appointed to systematically maintain the public service was held yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Office, under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
Further attention was also given to the possibilities of providing fuel concessions in the future as well as increasing the fuel quota.
The Prime Minister’s Media Division stated that sustainable energy management and the future steps to be taken in that regard were discussed during the meeting.
The officials who participated in the committee meeting said that while there is sufficient fuel until August, the required fuel quantity for the remaining months of this year has also been requested.
The Prime Minister’s Media Division said that appointing an 'Energy Manager' to every institution to save energy within state institutions, as well as shifting towards renewable energy sources, was discussed.
Taking the necessary steps to design state buildings according to green concepts under the 'Clean Sri Lanka' National Program was also discussed
The Prime Minister’s Media Division also stated that Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said it is necessary to provide electricity as required during the Vesak week, while expressing views at the committee meeting.
