Drug Kingpin Batuwatte Chamara to Be Repatriated from Dubai Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Batuwatte Chamara, an alleged organised crime figure and drug trafficker, is scheduled to be repatriated to Sri Lanka from Dubai today.

A team from the Criminal Investigation Department has departed for Dubai to escort him back to the country.

Three individuals linked to Batuwatte Chamara’s drug trafficking network were arrested recently during a raid conducted by the Police Special Task Force.

During the operation, officers seized 25 grams and 400 milligrams of Ice or crystal methamphetamine, cash, and 70 narcotic pills from the suspects’ possession.
