Inmate Reported Dead At Welikada Prison Following Altercation

COLOMBO (News 1st): An inmate serving a sentence at the Welikada Prison has died.

The Department of Prisons stated that the inmate had fallen ill following an altercation with prison officers, which had eventually lead to his death. 

The deceased is a 40-year-old resident of Borella.

Meanwhile, another inmate had recently died following an assault at the Magazine Prison.
