COLOMBO (News 1st) - Health Minister of Russia Mikhail Mureshko and the Russian delegation, who are currently on an official visit to the island, are scheduled to visit the National Hospital of Sri Lanka in Colombo today.
Minister Mureshko is also expected to visit the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Colombo during the visit.
A seven-member delegation led by the Russian Health Minister Mikhail Mureshko arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday morning for a three-day official visit.
The health ministries of Sri Lanka and Russia are set to reach several bilateral agreements and MOUs during the visit.
Discussions between the two parties will focus on developing collaboration in several vital healthcare sectors including, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, training and advanced specialization for medical professionals, academic and research cooperation, Ayurvedic medicine, digitalization of healthcare services and health tourism.
The Health Minister of Russia and the delegation are scheduled to conclude the three-day visit and depart the island tomorrow.
