Sarvanna Relics From Sri Lanka Brought To Texas For Sacred Exposition

COLOMBO (News 1st);The exposition of the Sacred 'Sarvanna' Relics brought from this country begins today at the Huong Dao Vipassana Meditation Center located in Texas, USA.

It will be held until the 10th of May

The Sacred Relics were brought to the United States of America under the patronage of the Sri Lankan government, following a request made by the Venerable Vietnamese Pannakara Thero, who participated in the "Walk for Peace in the Island of Peace" .

The relics brought in this manner include the Sacred Sarvanna Relics discovered from the Neelagiri Maha Seya ,currently enshrined at the Hanguranketha Madumwala Viharaya, and the Sacred Hair Relics (Kesha Dhatu) along with other relics from the Gangaramaya Temple.

Representing Sri Lanka the Maha Sangha, the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, and a group of officials from the Department of Archaeology have traveled to America.
