Cabinet Greenlights Bill to Establish National Cyber Security Regulatory Authority

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Cabinet approval has been granted for the bill to establish the National Cyber Security Regulatory Authority, The Ministry of Digital Economy has announced. 

Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy, Waruna Sri Dhanapala stated that the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) are currently working in collaboration with the Legal Draftsman’s Department to finalize the drafting of the Bill. 

According to the Sec. Waruna Sri Dhanapala it is expected to finalize the drafting of the relevant bill within a period of two to three months and table in Parliament.
