Walk For Peace To Conclude At Independence Square Today

COLOMBO (News 1st); The state ceremony of the "The Walk for Peace in the Island of peace" will be held this evening at Independence Square under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

During the event, a sapling of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is scheduled to be diplomatically handed over by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to the Maha Sangha who have arrived from the United States.

The Peace Walk which will commence from the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya at 11:00 AM today, is scheduled to reach Independence Square by around 4:00 PM.

Following the conclusion of the state ceremony, the Peace Walk will proceed in a procession from the Independence Square, passing the Maharaja Media Network Headquarters premises, and will arrive at the Gangaramaya Temple.
