More than 600 Suspects Arrested in Island-Wide Anti-Crime and Narcotics Operation

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Another 608 suspects have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing island-wide crime and narcotics prevention operation.

According to the Police 98 individuals with open warrants, 164 individuals with day warrants and 26 suspects directly identified in connection with specific crimes were arrested yesterday. 

These special operations are being carried out at the divisional level, covering all regional police stations to track down and apprehend suspects linked to criminal activities across the country.

During yesterday's search operation police officers conducted checks on a total of 26,600 individuals.
