Payments for Elderly 'Aswasuma' Beneficiaries To Be Made via Post Offices Starting Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - National Secretariat for Elders has announced that the monthly allowance for individuals over the age of 70 belonging to families receiving Aswasuma benefits can be collected starting today.

According to the Director of the National Secretariat for Elders, K. Chathura Mihidum, beneficiaries can collect these funds through their local post offices.

Payments will be disbursed from today until April 11.

Additionally, he stated all allowances for beneficiaries will be only disbursed via bank accounts starting from June 2026.
